JOIN US ON A TRIP:

Join us for a meaningful 2D2N trip to Batam, just an hour away by ferry from Singapore! During this trip, you’ll join us in running our Educational Tour, designed to inspire village children and their families to grow an interest for learning. Through a skit, songs, dance, and games, you’ll get to spark their interest for learning through fun and engaging ways.

We will also be running our Youth Mentorship Programme, where we will spend a morning with junior high school students from our partner school. We will guide them through interactive, hands-on sessions that help them discover new skills, explore creativity, and build confidence.

CONTEXT:

The Educational Tour was started to increase school enrolment among children in rural villages. As ensuring education for children is not a priority for many parents, they were reluctant to send their children to school or even attend the free tuition programs run by our partner organization, despite these programs being conducted in their villages. However, through the tours, the parents began entrusting their children with our NGO partner for education and development. Over the years, we’ve seen thousands of these children enrolled into schools; a huge step towards greater social equality and transformed families through the power of education.

Meanwhile, our Youth Mentorship Programme was started to expose junior high school students to learning opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have access to; from creative projects to essential life skills. The programme connects them with healthy mentors and role models who encourage them to dream bigger, build resilience, and grow in confidence. Over time, this has created a strong, supportive community of youths who are learning not only to thrive, but also to give back to their own city.

DAY 1:

— Ferry to Batam from HarbourFront Centre

— "Youth Mentorship" with Junior High students

— Brunch

— "Educational Tour" in Batam villages

— Dinner and debrief

DAY 2:

— Breakfast

— "Feeding Programme"

— Ferry back to Singapore

There are 2 training sessions that will be compulsory for this trip:

9th June — 9pm (Zoom Call) 16th June — 730pm - 10pm (Physical session at our office)

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you find it necessary to cancel your participation after payment has been made, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total event cost will be applicable and it will go directly to the project cost. However, once the needful has been booked, no refund will be given.
