About the event

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Join us on a trip to Batam, located just an hour away by ferry from Singapore! As part of the team, you will be engaging and inspiring change for youths through our youth engagement program called Community Nights and running a carnival to promote education and bring hope to the children and their families.

Our Community Nights is where we gather in different cities for anyone and everyone to come together to be inspired to see CHANGE in their own lives and the world around them through music, talks and conversations. It’s also a space to learn more about our humanitarian trips.

The Batam Carnival is a project where we bring in volunteers to run carnivals including games, song & dance, skits and activities. Through the carnival, the parents began to entrust their children to our NGO partner for education and development. Over the years, we’ve seen thousands of these children being enrolled into schools - a huge step towards greater social equality and transformed families through the power of education.

TRIP ITINERARY:

DAY 1:

— Ferry to Batam from HarbourFront Centre

— Meeting with Colours Indonesia coordinator and team

— "Community Night" for the youths

DAY 2:

— Brunch

— "Batam Carnival" in Batam villages

— Dinner and debrief

DAY 3:

— Breakfast

— Ferry back to Singapore

There are 2 training sessions that will be compulsory for this trip:

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you find it necessary to cancel your participation after payment has been made, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total event cost will be applicable and it will go directly to the project cost. 100% reimbursement will only be granted in cases where a valid medical certificate is provided. The medical certificate must clearly state the inability to attend due to health reasons. For cancellations due to reasons other than medical conditions, such as late arrival, schedule clashes, or change of plans, will not grant a 100% reimbursement.
